I’d posted this blog several years ago, but as I was taking a few minutes to clean out some outdated pieces, this one still rings true.  This is dedicated to all my dear friends muddling through this unprecedented period of time.

Connecting with the Love

You know when you hear a saying or read a quote that just speaks to you? That knock through the layers of ho-hum-ness and wake you up? Something that created a stir for me recently came through an email. At first, I thought, ‘oh, jeez, one of those silly chain letter type things.’ But as I read it, images of the women in my life who fit the description kept popping up!

Today someone asked me if I liked you.

I laughed, and said, “Ha! That’s funny!! I freakin’ LOVE that chick!! She’s funny, caring, crazy as heck, sweet, beautiful, she’s reading this email right now & I love her!!”

And it closed with,

Be the kind of woman that when your feet hit the floor each morning the devil says~ “Oh Crap! She’s up!”

I found myself reading it over and over. I started thinking about all the women in my life I totally love – and just how weird we all are! Not a completely ‘normal’ one in the bunch (Thank God!) I found myself laughing and crying, cherishing that love and the joy of our little idiosyncrasies!

We are all weird! We are bright lights carrying brilliance beyond measure. And our weirdness doesn’t diminish that brilliance – it just gives us a few edges to bounce that brilliance off of!

Today, honor who you are – quirks and all. Let your friends know how much you love ‘em! And, above all, aim to be the kind of woman that when your feet hit the floor each morning the devil says~ “Oh Crap! She’s up!”
