“Life isn’t about waiting for the storm to pass, it’s about learning how to dance in the rain.” – Vivian Greene

Wow! What a year it’s been! At the beginning of the year, I recorded a podcast called Flappers, FLAMBÉ (feeling like a million bucks everyday) and a New Decade – thinking about 100 years since the Roaring 20’s, that new energy and enthusiasm. I was sensing BIG energy shifts coming, but nothing like what came about!

Who would have guessed?

A while back, I shared a Facebook post that read,

“So, in retrospect, in 2015, not a single person got the answer right to ‘Where do you see yourself 5 years from now?”

Funny/not funny, right? No one expected the changes we’ve seen.

I think we’re all feeling at least a little lost, wandering (even if sheltered-in-place) in a territory we haven’t been prepared for. Things we may have clung to – like holiday gatherings or other celebrations – aren’t happening and, as a whole, I think many of us are grieving. Grieving losses large and small, but grieving.

One of my hardest losses came last month when one of my dearest friends lost her struggle with breast cancer. In some ways, I feel like a piece of my heart’s been ripped out. Yet I feel her presence and hear her whispers and feel the immense gratitude for her love and friendship over 30+ years.
